Someone sent the following which I assume ...Hello,

Someone sent the following which I assume is taken from your blog.
--------------------------------
"Cultural expression can be a way of thanking God. When I listen to Qawwali or sitar, or watch the latest masterpiece of the Iranian cinema, or look at a particularly uplifting work of art, or read an insightful novel, I cannot but exclaim: ‘Alhamdulilllah’."
-------------------------------

So the gist here is, when something appeals to YOU, you say "Alhamdolillah". So basically it's YOU who decides when to say "Alhamdolillah". And I think this is where we may have a small difference of opinion. Islam starts with submitting oneself to Allah, which means ,,, there is no more "I" or "Me". It's all about what pleases Allah.
For example, someone may feel pleased fornicating or consuming alcohol or feels like having fun poking at people or watching pornography,,,, can he also say "Alhamdolillah"?

So who is going to decide what is right and what is wrong? Not YOU or ME. Allah has decided where you should say Alhamdolillah and where you should rather say "Astaghfirullah".

MBKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17373207457073383137noreply@blogger.com
